1) The CSJ is offering a new Award this year.  It is titled: “Discovering The Truth ”
This award is open to high school students in grades 11-12 and who are children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews of lodge members in good standing.  The student must select one of the many anti-Columbus myths being repeated today and prove it wrong using reputable sources. The deadline for these submissions is June 1, 2025.  Awards will be distributed as follows: 

1st Place: $1,000, 2nd Place $500, and 3rd place $300

2) If you have Netflix check out the movie "The Children's Train". It's an Italian movie, with audio in both English and Italian, about a seven-year-old boy named Amerigo who in 1946 leaves his impoverished family in Naples and gets on a train to go live with a wealthier family in the north as part of a postwar initiative to rescue children from poverty.

3) H.R. 5822: Indigenous Peoples’ Day Act: This bill is in the first stage of the legislative process. It was introduced into Congress on September 28, 2023. It will typically be considered by committee next before it is possibly sent on to the House or Senate as a whole. It is cosponsored by 86 Democrats including Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Jamaal Bowman, Andriano Espaillat, Grace Mang, and Gregory Meeks.
